LearnServe Development VISTA

LearnServe’s mission is to equip high school students from diverse backgrounds with the entrepreneurial vision, confidence, and leadership skills needed to tackle social challenges at home and abroad through our after-school programs. Just as importantly, students discover their own potential as leaders and changemakers. LearnServe’s VISTA project will deepen programming and expand our community so even more young people have the opportunity to create positive change. Located in Washington, DC, LearnServe offers unique experiences in a hub of education, government, and nonprofit leadership. LearnServe is growing to serve even more young people across the country—and around the world—and the Development VISTA will play a key role in helping us engage our community in new ways. The Development VISTA will: * Develop and strengthen LearnServe's grant research and foundation cultivation processes, including creating systems and tracking tools to identify, manage, and nurture relationships with prospective and current funders. * Support the growth of the Youth Empowerment Champions Campaign, LearnServe's recurring giving program, by developing and implementing creative donor recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies. * Support the growth of the Boardroom Champions initiative, cultivating corporate partnerships that provide financial support, volunteer engagement, professional mentorship, and opportunities for students to connect with community leaders. Our ideal candidate will have: * Belief in the power of young people to create change * Passion for youth development and leadership * Excellent communication and writing skills * A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork * Willingness to learn and develop new skills * Experience in project development and management, with strong attention to detail * Ability to think creatively and critically in developing new ideas and strategies * Experience in research; grant research is a plus
