ASAS NJ Curriculum and Activity Developer VISTA
 
 
 
Founded in 1992, After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is a non-profit organization that provides daily after-school programs at no cost to families to as many as 140,000 youth in over 725 schools and other sites across 19 chapters throughout the USA. Offering comprehensive, school-based programs that combine academic enrichment, career exploration, and health & fitness activities, ASAS empowers scholars, works to close the achievement and opportunity gaps, and prepares young leaders to succeed in both school and life. ASAS NJ is serving nearly 2000 students at 19 schools in the City of Newark. ASAS NJ is seeking a VISTA member to support curriculum and enrichment enhancement. The primary goal for the ASAS NJ Curriculum and Activity Developer VISTA is to assist in gathering and developing high-quality hands-on and project-based curricula and activities that promote participants' personal development, academic growth, and overall well-being. The aim is to offer engaging and impactful experiences that inspire curiosity, foster a love for learning, and empower scholars to explore their passions and talents. The VISTA will work directly with the Director of Programs and the Director of Curriculum & Instruction to support with the development of creative, project-based lessons and activities that align with ASAS NJ core offerings and curricula and help us to promote positive engagement that fosters a safe & secure environment where staff and scholars thrive. * This role is based in Newark, New Jersey and will require the VISTA member to visit site locations throughout the city. Those with formal experience with children in a classroom and/or camp-like setting; experience with: mentorship, facilitation, classroom management, experience with children, experience with neuro-divergent youth, and cultural connection to Newark are strongly encouraged to apply.

Member Duties : In collaboration with the NJ Programs teams, the VISTA member will assist: * in gathering and developing comprehensive curricula that align with program goals, cater to diverse learning needs, and provide participants with meaningful learning experiences. * with regularly assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of enrichment programs, making necessary adjustments to improve participant outcomes and program impact. * contribute to the overall success of ASAS NJ by providing enriching and transformative experiences for our participants, fostering their holistic development and a lifelong love for learning.
