Renewable Energy Healthy Homes VISTA

If you want a career at the intersection of public health and climate change, is both cutting-edge and built on a strong legacy working in energy efficiency and weatherization, then this might be the spot for you! Access to a warm home with clean air should be accessible to all irrespective of income level. Luckily, the U.S. Department of Energy agrees and has expanded its historic home weatherization programs to include a slew of new initiatives focused on improving efficiency and indoor air quality for millions of Americans. Even if you’ve heard about these new resources, accessing good information and navigating these programs can be really tricky, especially for those whose time and energy are stretched thin in a state with traditionally one of the most extreme climates in the country. The Renewable Energy Healthy Homes VISTA will provide education, outreach, and engagement focused on rural and low-income Alaskans across the state. The VISTA will educate and engage Alaskans regarding in-home environmental factors that can impact health, household-level clean energy, and the current and future rebates and incentives for weatherization and decarbonization from DOE and Alaska's Green Bank. In partnership with Renewable Energy Alaska Project, the Renewable Energy Healthy Homes VISTA will provide much needed and easily accessible guidance and education for the Alaskan populations listed above seeking to improve home health.
