The primary objective of the Survivor Link Public Health Specialist is to build capacity within the community to understand and respond to domestic violence. The specialist works with a public health or complimentary setting under the dual supervision of an agency-identified supervisor and a university faculty member. This 675 hour reduced-half time term of service will include: internship duties, attend training events, complete and receive certification for a virtual 15-hour CDC Public Health training. The member will both develop and deliver 3-6 trainings and provide technical assistance to staff at public health or complementary agencies. These trainings include the core training sessions of 1) Intimate Partner Violence Awareness, 2) Evidence-informed Screening or Universal Intervention principles, and 3) Safety Planning and Local Community Resources. Additional service duties can include group and individual support, childcare, facility maintenance, and other tasks assigned by the site supervisor and Faculty Coordinator.
