Civic Engagement-Community Engagement

Neighborhood Engagement connects neighborhoods with City of Lancaster departments, programs, and partner resources to create solutions and improve the quality of life for all City of Lancaster residents. We do this by offering programs and serving as liaisons between the City and residents. Programs include Neighborhood Leaders Academy (NLA) and Love Your Block (LYB). NLA empowers leaders in all Lancaster neighborhoods to encourage one another, identify problems, remedy issues, and celebrate the community and each other. LYB brings residents together to get to know their neighbors and complete projects that they deem important. While the physical projects focused on trash and blight remediation, community and capacity building are also a key components.
