2024 Girls on the Run – Western Maryland

Girls on the Run of Mid and Western Maryland (GOTR) relies on volunteers to lead our afterschool and summer programming for girls in third through eighth grades. The focus of the VISTA will be on expanding volunteer recruitment and establishing infrastructure to support ongoing volunteer recruitment and retention in western Maryland. This will include creating and executing a communication strategy in partnership with the Executive Director; identifying and meeting with potential organizations, local businesses, and educational institutions in western Maryland; creating and maintaining a tracking system for emerging and established partners and volunteers; providing support and training to new volunteers; and providing an ongoing evaluation of success of efforts in recruiting and retaining volunteers through updating tools such as surveys.
