Glacier Peak Institute Economic Strategist VISTA
 
 
 
The goal of this VISTA opportunity is to secure funds to help end poverty through strengthening and enhancing economic opportunities and capacity for GPI and the Darrington and Concrete areas to support the at-risk youth in the community Member Duties: Key activities include: Researching and pursuing grants and funding, starting a community gear library to include inventory, partnering with organizations, donations, and intake system, launching a capital campaign for 2024, expanding foundational connections, developing donor management and communications systems, creating a fundraiser planning system, applying for permits for new outdoor recreation events, expanding the merchandise store and trail races, creating marketing plans and implementing them.

Member Duties : The VISTA will help connect youth, community and ecosystems through strengthening and enhancing economic opportunities and capacity for GPI and the Darrington and Concrete areas to support the at-risk youth in the community. The AmeriCorps member will work to secure funds to support GPI’s unique outdoor STEM education, workforce and recreational programs. Service includes pursuing grants, expanding connections with donor base, supporting fundraising, planning workforce development and creating opportunities in an underserved community. The member will implement the strategic priorities from GPI’s strategic plan and the Economic Development plan.
