NYIC VISTA, Communications & Program Development @ MCN
 
 
 
This position is part of the 2024 - 2025 NYIC VISTA program, which is run by the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) and places AmeriCorps VISTAs – referred to as NYIC VISTAs – at nonprofit organizations throughout New York State where they build organizational capacity through communications, fundraising, program development/outreach and/or volunteer management projects. The capacity that they build is then used by their host organizations to advance their work on providing community members with anti-poverty services (e.g., ESL/ESOL, legal, youth, health, housing, employment/career). NYIC VISTAs are supported by the NYIC with several multi-day in-person trainings throughout the year, weekly webinars, monthly check-ins with NYIC staff, ongoing networking opportunities and general support.

Member Duties : VISTA PLACEMENT: Muslim Community Network (MCN), https://mcnny.org. MISSION: MCN’s mission is to use civic education and leadership development to shape the public narrative about what it means to be Muslim in the United States of America. VISTA ACTIVITIES: The NYIC VISTA, Communications & Program Development, placed at MCN, will work on supporting the organization develop new communications best practices and resources (e.g., around social media, promotion, website management) and program development projects (e.g., outreach, resource collection, curriculum development) in support of the organization's direct service/programmatic work. SERVICE LOCATION: 450 Lexington Ave, New York NY 10014. LIVING ALLOWANCE: $29,123.35
