NYIC VISTA, Comms & Fundraising @ Elmont Cultural Center
 
 
 
This position is part of the 2024 - 2025 NYIC VISTA program, which is run by the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) and places AmeriCorps VISTAs – referred to as NYIC VISTAs – at nonprofit organizations throughout New York State where they build organizational capacity through communications, fundraising, program development/outreach and/or volunteer management projects. The capacity that they build is then used by their host organizations to advance their work on providing community members with anti-poverty services (e.g., ESL/ESOL, legal, youth, health, housing, employment/career). NYIC VISTAs are supported by the NYIC with several multi-day in-person trainings throughout the year, weekly webinars, monthly check-ins with NYIC staff, ongoing networking opportunities and general support.

Member Duties : VISTA PLACEMENT: Elmont Cultural Center (ECC), www.theelmontculturalcenter.org. MISSION: ECC's mission is to promote and support the self-sufficiency and well-being of the immigrant populations and to facilitate community engagement in and around Greater Long Island; VISTA ACTIVITIES: The NYIC VISTA,Communications and Fundraising, placed at ECC, will work on building the organization's capacity through communications (e.g., helping to further develop social media, promotional, and website management resources and systems) and fundraising (e.g., grant applications, events, donor engagement) projects, in support of the organization's direct services/programmatic work. SERVICE LOCATION: 70 Crystal Street, Elmont, NY 11003. LIVING ALLOWANCE: $29,123.35
