24-25 Community Collaboration Response VISTA - Reno, NV

The Community Engagement and Outreach Department facilitates holiday events, community events, and disaster response for the low-income population residing in the Reno-Sparks Metropolitan Area. With the increased costs of food, fuel, and rent, CCNN is seeing a greater need amongst families seeking our homeless prevention services. With growth comes the need for more robust procedures that recruit dedicated and skilled volunteers that support multi-agency events. We know that our volunteers thrive with consistency and procedures that are easy to understand and actionable while addressing their safety. The VISTA will build a program and materials for multi-agency volunteer response at communitywide events. This collaboration helps enhance areawide capacity and resources to ensure accurate and equitable communication, flexibility, targeted expertise, engaged volunteers, and support families. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.
