24-25 Marketing Coordinator VISTA - Reno, NV

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada (CCNN) is seeking a VISTA Family Strengthening & Elevating Marketing Coordinator to build the marketing and communications capacity of its newest program, Elevating Families, to help households reach self-driven sustainability through mobility mentoring. Using the evidence based economic mobilities pathway (EMPath) tools to provide participants with a roadmap to economic independence. The chronic stress of living in impoverished and unhealthy conditions can overwhelm stress response systems, causing what has been referred to as “toxic stress.” Toxic stress affects brain architecture and can lead to a range of chronic illnesses, including heart disease, substance abuse, and depression. However, families can be powerful buffers of toxic stress; research has shown that access to consistent, positive, nurturing, and responsive support can protect children and families from the harmful health effects of toxic stress. CCNN is transforming human service delivery by creating pathways to the most impactful and sustainable gains. Using the Bridge to Self-Sufficiency® comprehensive roadmap to help households plan, reach, and sustain their personal goals. The project is in its pilot run (100 people) and expected to fully launch in fall 2023. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.
