Immunization Education & Outreach Coordinator VISTA

Immunize Colorado is a statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit which works to protect Colorado families and communities from vaccine-preventable disease. Our AmeriCorps VISTA program, the Colorado Immunity Corps ("CO-mmunity Corps"), aims to advance and promote vaccine delivery and knowledge in communities across the state. Up to eight AmeriCorps VISTA members at a time will complete a full-time year of national service at local public health agencies and community-based organizations across Colorado. Our Members have served in many areas of the state, and the locations of available host sites varies by program year. The AmeriCorps VISTA Immunization Outreach and Education Coordinator(s) will develop outreach strategies to increase the host site's number and quality of community partnerships to promote access to primary care and improve vaccination rates through community-based clinics and education and outreach events. With support from host site staff and Immunize Colorado, each Member will be responsible for analyzing data to better understand gaps in programming and developing recommendations for their host site to better serve the community. Applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as on a team. This role is a great opportunity to make an impact on the health of Colorado communities and gain experience in public health.

Member Duties : The Immunization Outreach and Education Coordinator will: Develop partnerships with key community partners such as healthcare providers, pharmacies, school health personnel, community-based organizations and local public health professionals; Recruit medical professionals, volunteers and subject matter experts to support immunization outreach and education events; Create and promote reusable communication materials and marketing strategies; Research and assess community needs; Develop recommendations to improve host site programming; Attend required trainings and program team meetings; Establish a standardized framework for post-event / intervention evaluation; Develop a community-specific framework for immunization stakeholder engagement; Create processes for collecting and analyzing local immunization data. Occasional miscellaneous duties, as assigned. Prior expertise in vaccination is NOT required.
