El Futuro Advancing Latino Mental Health Access Specialist
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps VISTA Advancing Latino Mental Health Access (ALMA) Program Specialist will build the capacity of El Futuro’s ALMA program by developing and growing training and technical assistance programs aimed at improving access to mental health care for Latino communities across NC. Specific activities include, but are not limited to: Create & maintain positive relationships with all partner organizations & community stakeholders; Lead recruitment efforts; Gather information from Technical Assistance partners across the state; Administer surveys/assessments to support continuous quality improvement & research; Compile & track data; Develop & refine communications & outreach materials for partner agencies; Create training materials, including videos; Create social media posts about Latino mental health; Conduct outreach to increase the pipeline of Latino mental health clinicians. Qualifications: Experience with community/non-profit mental health/health organizations; demonstrated experience working with/awareness of the context of traditionally under-resourced communities, preferably the Latino community; Required: Must be able to document professional reports, program outcomes in English; Strongly preferred: Spanish language proficiency; Excellent communication, organizational & time-management skills; Flexibility, creativity & a spirit of collaboration to address developing programmatic needs; Computer skills including Google suite products, Box.com, Monday.com, Zoom This position is a full-time, year-long volunteer service opportunity. Member Duties : Activities include but are not limited to: Create & maintain positive relationships with all partner organizations & community stakeholders; Lead recruitment efforts; Gather information from Technical Assistance partners across the state to report on the most pressing mental health needs of Latino community members; Administer surveys/assessments to support continuous quality improvement and research; Compile & track data; Develop & refine communications & outreach materials for partner agencies; Create training materials, including videos, for building up best practices for working with Latino populations, Latino mental wellbeing trainings, and Placticas Practicas; Create social media posts about Latino mental health; Conduct outreach to increase the pipeline of Latino mental health clinicians; Evaluation development for new initiatives.
