STRESS LESS STUDENT INITIATIVE COORDINATOR, VISTA member will help build capacity to strengthen classrooms' learning environment and the Mental Health of children in classrooms across Kent County. Develop presentations with volunteers to engage school systems for partnerships, and develop messaging through a series of metrics to ensure students can succeed using initiative. Creating a database of participating districts, schools, PTA / PTO / Booster Organizations, After School, vocational programs, principles, teachers, and para pros in low to moderate-income, free and reduced-lunch schools. (K-8) Working with our volunteers to set up a curriculum for stress reduction training, to be utilized in schools. This will involve presentations, calls, visits, meetings, research, and following-up. Create forms for metrics and measurements of program evaluation and success for volunteers to follow. There are 12 public school districts in Kent County. Grand Rapids Public Schools is the third largest in Michigan. There are 240 public schools serving 98,721 students, and 68 private schools serving an additional 16,550 students. Our goal is to bridge connections with all public, private, and charter schools.
