Our training, consulting, and loan services help women and underrepresented entrepreneurs access resources, strengthen skills, and enlarge networks that help them build generational wealth. WomenVenture is the only U.S. Department of Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) focused on women in MN and the only U.S. SBA -designated Women’s Business Center in the Twin Cities. In 2022, WomenVenture’s Training Program was awarded a Women’s Business Center of Excellence by the SBA: Women’s Business Centers. VISTA PROJECT GOAL The Grants & Communication Coordinator will collaborate with the Advancement & Marketing Team to increase grant resources and partnerships to support women and BIPOC entrepreneurs in building and sustaining profitable businesses. The VISTA will collaborate with the grants team to: 1. Increase knowledge of grant opportunities and best practices to increase funding streams. 2. Develop mission-related collateral that includes client stories and data-driven results on the services WomenVenture provides entrepreneurs. 3. Design a more transparent, efficient, and automated solicitation and stewardship process. The Grants & Communications Coordinator will strengthen WomenVenture’s financial position, which will lead to improved client outcomes such as increased owner wages, better return to the economy, and a more diverse client population. WomenVenture’s financial strength means more women can achieve their economic potential.

Member Duties : Responsibility 1: Increase the list of potential grant prospects through weekly grant research. -Learn and practice grant prospecting and research strategies. -Responsibility 2: Strengthen grant-seeking and communications efforts -Work with Grants Manager to edit and improve the organizational narrative. -Ongoing research of community economic, employment, and business ownership data and findings that demonstrate the need for WomenVenture’s services. -Interview and write compelling stories of clients and their business's impact on the community. -Update website content, adhering to best practices for accessibility and search engine optimization. Responsibility 3: Support the grants team by systemizing and building efficiencies into the grant-seeking and reporting process. -Work with Grants Manager to simplify the grant-seeking spreadsheet and process. -Collaborate with Grants Manager to build WomenVenture’s FY25 Grant Seeking calendar.
