2023 Data Support Specialist Summer Associate

The Data Support Specialist VISTA will be hosted by Housing Forward, located in Maywood, IL. Housing Forward is part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. We are committed to providing inventive crisis resolutions while working with likely and unconventional stakeholders to find innovative, structural solutions. Housing Forward has an ongoing commitment to data driven process improvements. The Data Support VISTA will be integral in supporting Housing Forward’s capacity to lead effectively and efficiently through improved processes for data collection, reporting, and grant preparation. An ideal candidate is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. They should have strong computer and data entry skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. The applicant should have a keen attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to evaluate, identify and articulate where there is a need for data improvement.

Member Duties : The Data Support VISTA will research and identify best practices for data entry in the Homeless Management Information System. Through this process, they will develop data management and communications skills in order to create systems that improve data tracking for public grant reporting. They will also train and provide technical support to staff that ensures the sustainability of their project.
