Science Moab’s mission is to make place-based science accessible to all. We envision communities across the Colorado Plateau thriving from a deeper engagement with science and place-based knowledge. We work to ensure that local communities benefit educationally, economically, and environmentally from the science being done in the region.

Member Duties : The Science Outreach and Education VISTA will build the capacity of two of Science Moab & programs: School to Science (which facilitates science mentorship opportunities to improve college and career readiness for underserved high school students) and Outreach (which offers free, accessible science education to community members of and visitors to southeastern Utah through a variety of media platforms and live events). The VISTA will strengthen both programs by recruiting program participants and volunteers; coordinating and promoting live events; developing and evaluating programming; overseeing website, graphic design, and social media projects; and fundraising. With a great degree of independence, this position is dynamic, strategic, and creative, offering the unique opportunity to shape a popular local nonprofit for years to come.
