Stream Teams United: Little Blue River Watersheds
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps member at this site will serve at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center and serve in partnership with the Little Blue River Watershed Coalition to develop water education programs and expand the reach of water education to low-income youth in the Kansas City region. The member will help recruit volunteers and expand partnerships for community environmental stewardship projects. The member will help expand the reach of community green space restorations to benefit low-income youth and provide opportunities to connect youth with nature.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member serving at this site will assist the non-profit Little Blue River Watershed Coalition to develop water education programs and expand the reach of water education programs to benefit low-income youth in the Kansas City region, help build the capacity to connect low-income youth to nature, and provide them opportunities to participate in environmental stewardship and science activities. The member will help recruit, train, and manage volunteers for teaching science education activities, conducting community environmental stewardship projects, and help research grant and funding opportunities to support future water education and community environmental stewardship projects.
