Social Media and Event Communications VISTA

Covenant House Alaska (CHA)’s mission is to serve all youth experiencing homelessness or human trafficking with absolute respect and unconditional love. In 1988 we opened our doors—the first, and still only, shelter for youth in the southcentral region of our state. Since then, CHA has evolved into an organization providing a wide breadth of housing, education and workforce development programs and services that help move youth move from crisis to independence in our community, serving 898 youth last year. Our programs, services and agency projects are built to offer a one-size-fits-one approach to serving every teen and young adult we meet, to help them become the best versions of themselves, to strengthen our Alaskan community, and to prevent chronic adult homelessness before it starts. The Development Department is responsible for the sustainability of Covenant House Alaska by ensuring the resources are available for Covenant House to continue our work in the community. This position falls under the communications arm of that department which is responsible for all external communications to include print, digital and spoken as well as responsible for creating and managing several legacy fundraising events. It is a fast-paced environment, with a staff that is very caring and fun, yet professional. We take our work seriously, but never ourselves.
