Member Duties : The Cheyney University Co-Curricular Experience (CUCCE) VISTA will assist with developing the framework for Workforce Development initiatives targeted at assisting historically underrepresented students with preparing for high demand careers. This involves contributing to the plan & structure for operationalizing what it means to be Cheyneymade. The VISTA will help create the framework for co-curricular activities for each level of student and identify micro credentials that will improve graduates' competitiveness in the job market. This approach to addressing the workforce needs and lack of skilled workers in specific areas where Black and Brown people are underrepresented will increase students’ confidence going into these settings, create a more diverse workforce, and improve the socioeconomic status. Experiential learning of this nature adds educational relevance which is demanded by today's student and helps overcome the struggles of low-income, first generation college students.
