2023 Youth Coordinator Summer Associate

The Youth Coordinator Summer Associate will be hosted by Mercy Housing Lakefront (MHL), located in Chicago, IL. MHL is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Learn more about the program on Housing Action’s website. Mercy Housing Lakefront (MHL) develops, owns, and manages affordable rental properties, including our Family Supportive Housing Property in the Roseland Community. MHL recognizes the lack of capacity to effectively serve the entire resident population in our multifamily properties. Whether the service delivery is driven by staff capacity, funding capacity, or national and local priorities, we understand that communities need more support to truly thrive. The summer associate will coordinate youth programming by helping to structure and launch a robust youth program that will incorporate creative arts, financial literacy, employment, job skills and training and youth leadership. This program will serve ages 12 - 18. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong organizational and time management skills. Candidates should be able to collaborate with various departments and possess strong communication skills.
