2023 ReStore Summer Associate

The ReStore Associate will be hosted by Habitat for Humanity Lake County located in Waukegan, IL. Habitat for Humanity Lake County is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Learn more about the program on Housing Action’s website: housingactionil.org/americorps. Habitat for Humanity Lake County is a nonprofit housing developer that brings volunteers, donors, customers, and partners together to build affordable houses for Partner Families in the community. Lake County is located north of Chicago at the Wisconsin border and is the third-largest county in Illinois, with a population of 700,000. Lake County has large outer ring suburbs with a more urban feel, typical suburban communities, and rural areas. The need for affordable housing exists in all parts of the county. By bringing the community together, we as Habitat can limit costs for development and build support for each project we begin and complete. The ReStore Associate will improve our customer, donor, and volunteer experience at our ReStore Gurnee. They will work alongside our staff to provide excellent customer service, an engaging volunteer experience, and represent Habitat to the community in a positive way. Our ideal candidates have a passion for working with the community, are enthusiastic about providing affordable housing solutions, and are excited to be a part of a team focused on change.
