2023 Summer Fundraising Associate
 
 
 
This position, Fundraising Summer Associate, will be hosted by Centro Romero located in Chicago. Centro Romero is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Centro Romero is a community-based organization that has been serving the low-income Latino immigrant and refugee community on the northeast side of Chicago for 37 years. The project will enable us to provide enhanced direct services to these low-income clients with housing needs in our public benefits program with the additional funds raised by the Summer Associate. The Summer Fundraising Associate is responsible for obtaining silent auction items for our virtual major fundraising event, assisting with raffle ticket sales, online ticket purchasing; outreach to business from past year’s events and seek out new ones as well; seek out new markets for ticket sales, follow up on potential attendees, and with the assistance of the creative coordinator, produce a summary of results of the Summer Associate’s efforts. The ideal candidate will have leadership and teamwork qualities, possess good communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, be dependable and flexible, show initiative, creativity, and an interest in working at a community-based nonprofit organization.

Member Duties : Fundraising: Participates in the major fundraising event Develops specific fundraising strategies and campaigns: Suggests unique ideas for future events; Provides support with other fundraising activities as assigned by the creative coordinator Marketing: Keeps branding on-track with use of all media and staffing expectations; Implement marketing plans and materials for campaigns and events Data Entry: Updates/maintains items for silent auction database; Produces lists for mailings and emails; Merges lists with documents (e-letters, labels, etc.)
