SUM Associate, VISTA Horizons Student Enrichment Prog-HGW

Horizons Greater Washington is an out-of-school-time academic and enrichment program serving K-8 students in families from underestimated communities at two program sites in DC and one site in Montgomery County, MD. We offer an intensive summer session and school year programming that helps our students avoid summer learning loss and prepare for a successful high school experience and post-secondary success. Our core summer program balances academics with swim instruction, social and emotional learning, art lessons, field trips, and confidence-building challenges. Uniquely, we make a nine-year commitment to each child, re-enrolling students each year from kindergarten through eighth grade. The result is a stable learning environment with trusted educators and a community focused on accelerating achievement. Summer VISTA members will have a unique opportunity to work across all three sites, working side-by-side with Site Leadership to manage program volunteers and ensure smooth program operations. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is interested in growing into a leadership role in an education or youth development setting. We are looking for a VISTA to join us from June 12-August 8th to ensure they are fully onboarded and oriented for their role with our Horizons Greater Washington Summer Program, which will operate June 30-August 4.
