The Philadelphia Regional Institute for STEM Educators (PRISE, prisephilly.org) at St. Joseph’s University aims to build lasting synergies among institutions of higher education and other STEM education stakeholders in the Philadelphia region that will strengthen all aspects of the STEM educator pathway: engagement, recruitment, preparation, induction, and ongoing professional development and growth throughout a educator’s career in ways that no individual organization would be able to achieve alone.

Member Duties : The PRISE VISTA position will support organizational capacity so as to recruit and support more highly qualified STEM teachers for the School District of Philadelphia and particularly more STEM teachers of color. The VISTA will report to the PRISE Program Manager.  The PRISE VISTA will build a more robust information and communication infrastructure to support PRISE recruitment, retention, and development of STEM educators in the Philadelphia region. The VISTA will: 1. Identify data management strategies and products. 2. Design data management tools and practices 3. Implement and evaluate the revised tools and practices The PRISE office is located at St. Joseph’s University. Supervision will take place in-person, virtually, or off-site as the work dictates.  Occasional travel within Philadelphia is required.
