Program Capacity VISTA

Connecticut Foodshare is the state's only Feeding America food bank. We support individuals and families – from one end of the state to the other – by addressing root causes, creating long-term solutions, and distributing nutritious food through local partner programs in an effort to alleviate hunger. Connecticut is home to great wealth but also some of the poorest cities in the nation. This position works with the Mobile Pantry and CSFP senior box programs to make improvements that will positively impact thousands of people who use these programs every month. The VISTA will collect feedback from program users to inform improvements. Train hundreds of program volunteers in order to improve the quality of experience at the sites. Create program improvements to increase value of the program to participants, including adding third party resources and improving food offerings. This position requires a caring person, able to connect in a genuine way with people from every demographic. Someone who radiates respect and compassion, is direct, honest and comfortable speaking to groups of people. Good Microsoft Office skills and the ability to troubleshoot and improve processes is preferred. Statewide travel required with mileage reimbursed. Transportation required.
