An initiative of the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, Cities of Services helps mayors build stronger cities by changing the way local government and residents work together. We help our coalition cities tap into resident insights, skills, and services to identify and solve critical public problems. Founded in 2009 by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Cities of Service supports a coalition of more than 280 cities, representing more than 84 million people across the Americas and Europe. Cities of Service seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Lead to build out the Summer Associate program in Baltimore, MD. VISTA Summer Associates will support impact volunteering projects in these cities, including Love Your Block projects and other community engagement activities.

Member Duties : Work directly with staff from the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation Civic Engagement practice in order to develop the Love Your Block Summer Associate program. Under the direction of the Senior Advisor the VISTA will assist in the implementation of the Love Your Block Summer Associate program to continue to build capacity with LYB alumni cities to implement innovative civic engagement practices. The Summer VISTA Lead will enhance project stability and sustainability. Member will evaluate the learnings and impact of the Summer Love Your Block Program and prepare for the next cycle.
