VISTA - Fundraising Coordinator

Located in Portland, OR in the heart of the beautiful Pacific Northwest, the Mental Health & Addiction Association of Oregon (MHAAO) is a peer-run nonprofit dedicated to promoting self-directed recovery and wellness for all. We offer peer-to-peer recovery services in communities across the Portland area and training and continuing education opportunities for the peer workforce statewide and nationally. MHAAO is conducting a capital campaign for the purchase and renovations of a peer-run behavioral health facility: the Recovery Campus. We are recruiting a talented and passionate Fundraising Coordinator to build capacity for this and other projects through grant writing and fundraising, leveraging financial resources to support low-income communities. The Fundraising Coordinator will support donor and foundation prospecting and grant submission for the Recovery Campus. The VISTA Member will also assist in ongoing fundraising efforts and organizational needs, such as building capacity for MHAAO’s donor management systems, updating donor data, conducting research, building relationships, and more. The VISTA Member will receive an $8,000 housing stipend, a $19,000 annual living allowance, a $7,900 health allowance, an $1,800 end-of-service stipend or $6,895 education award, relocation and childcare support, and more. This position has the option for teleservice or hybrid service. However, VISTA Members must reside in the community being served. The VISTA Member will receive ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including in-service training, MHAAO’s Peer Wellness Specialist Training, and MHAAO’s annual conference, Peerpocalypse. The VISTA Member will engage with numerous community partners, build connections and networks, learn about peer support within an anti-poverty context, and engage in professional development opportunities for long-term career growth – all while making a direct impact on our organization and the communities we serve.
