Associate, VISTA Horizons Student Enrichment Program-HGSFS

This is an exciting opportunity for self-starting individuals with a passion for racial justice and educational equity. Horizons at Greene Street Friends School is located in Germantown, a neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA. We are a longitudinal summer enrichment program serving students from under-resourced public schools in Germantown. Our program prevents “summer slide”, a term that refers to the academic regression that occurs over the summer months. Students from underserved communities, like Germantown, are particularly vulnerable to summer slide due to lack of access to quality educational programming and a decline in exposure to learning opportunities once summer break begins. HGSFS helps to close this opportunity gap by offering a rich 6-week experience for low-income students. A longitudinal program, students begin HGSFS in kindergarten and return each year through eighth grade, creating an opportunity for deep, long-term relationships with students and their families. We are looking for somebody who has experience in the educational field as well as someone who has strong written and verbal communication to assist with grant writing during the school year and marketing campaigns. We are prioritizing someone who has experience with grant writing as that is a main component of the role. Our program is six weeks and will run from June 26 - August 4th with the VISTA continuing on with us throughout the school year. Please contact Adia Harmon aharmon.horizons@greenestreetfriends.org.
