Associate, VISTA Horizons Student Enrichment Program-CA
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position and the individual will work directly with the Executive Director and Program Director of the Horizons program for a full year of service. This is an opportunity for motivated, committed and collaborative individuals who are passionate about making a difference and receiving beyond entry-level responsibilities. The candidate should have a demonstrated interest in volunteer and community service as well as the desire to take on responsibilities that will challenge themselves and make a positive impact on the Horizons Colorado community. Additional Benefits: Monday-Friday the VISTA will be eligible for snacks and lunch provided by Colorado Academy except on school breaks or Colorado Academy’s days off. During the summer program, breakfast as well as lunch will be provided. We will also provide a $100 monthly transportation stipend and a $100 monthly housing stipend during the time the VISTA works with Horizons Colorado.

Member Duties : During the summer, the VISTA will: Shadow the Executive Director and Program Director to understand the workings of the program; Create additional community awareness and marketing for the program; Conduct outreach, coordination, and tracking of special events; and Collect, compile, and present assessment data and feedback from program constituents. During the school year, the VISTA will work with the Executive Director and Program Director to: Promote the program in the community through traditional communication methods and social media; Seek new community partners to provide services and programs for Horizons students; Develop systems for communicating/sharing information with partner schools; Use data to tell additional stories of our impact; Research and seek opportunities for establishing collaborative relationships with service providers and organizations that align with Horizons Colorado’s work; and Research ways in which the program can serve more students.
