SOTS-Indigenous Agriculture & Food Systems Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
To alleviate poverty by empowering the youth in our community with regenerative soil building, seed preservation, and mycoremediation education. Creating food scapes, food hubs and community gardens in identified neighborhoods impacted by food apartheid. Aid in the coordination/planning of growing local indigenous produce with partnered farms for elders foodshare weekly distribution to address health disparities such as diabetes, high cholesterol, cancer, and build healthy immune systems against Covid-19.

Member Duties : Work during the gardening season to further develop the different gardens throughout the West Denver Metro area. The food grown is then donated to organizations in need, schools, and other members of the community. And to gain community involvement and awareness of surrounding schools through outreach efforts.
 
Program Benefits : Education award upon successful completion of service ,  Training ,  Relocation Allowance ,  Stipend ,  Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend ,  Living Allowance ,  Childcare assistance if eligible ,  Rental Stipend $250 payable to Landlord .
