2023 Habitat Neighborhood Revitalization VISTA - La Crosse
 
 
 
The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations increase capacity and sustainability for programs focused on alleviating poverty, while developing new leadership to help strengthen Wisconsin’s communities and move them “forward.” With passion, commitment, and hard work, our VISTAs help affiliates bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Located along the beautiful Mississippi River, HFH La Crosse serves La Crosse, Vernon, and Trempealeau counties in western Wisconsin, and Houston County in Minnesota. Dedicated to bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope, HFH La Crosse has built over 40 homes since becoming an affiliate in 1992 and continues to improve housing conditions.

Member Duties : You’ll help expand Habitat La Crosse’s ReNew the Block neighborhood revitalization initiative, increasing their capacity to complete more home repairs in their 4-county service area. In addition, you will participate in the planning & organizing of a summer outdoor fundraising event. Activities include: 1)Researching and applying for funding opportunities. 2)Create and implement a marketing and outreach plan to promote ReNew. 3) Research similar programs and work with the Sustainability Department to develop a plan for program expansion. Develop a “tool kit” for communities to use on future projects. Create Community Impact Report templates for a variety of audiences. Position is 30 hours/week. **Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Selection may be made before deadline date posted.**
