TMA Maryland Nonprofits JEDI VISTA Project

The Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations (Maryland Nonprofits) is one of the largest and most successful state associations of nonprofits with over 1,400 organizational members, 150 associate members, and 30 staff to serve them. Our mission is to strengthen organizations and networks for greater quality of life and equity. Maryland Nonprofits is the primary resources for advice and assistance on nonprofit management issues for the state’s nonprofit community. We conduct training programs and provide technical assistance in most areas of nonprofit management subjects; promote opportunities for information sharing and networking and represent the interests of our members and the nonprofit sector before the General Assembly, Congress, and local governments. We are recognized across the nonprofit sector and among policymakers, the media, opinion leaders, and the public, as the leading representative of and the authoritative source of information about the state’s nonprofit sector. Maryland Nonprofits’ JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) training program spearheaded by our Director of Consulting helps nonprofit organizations work towards having boards of directors and staff that are diverse and representative of their culture and client base. This project in support of this effort and will help nonprofit organizations in Maryland to expand their capacity in the areas of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI). Through our capacity-building work and JEDI program, Maryland Nonprofits has a role to help well-resourced, mainstream organizations diversify and strengthen their commitment to diverse communities. And, to help small, people-of-color led organizations strengthen their ability to grow, compete for resources, and expand their impact.
