Community Resources Coordinator

**UWKC AmeriCorps members must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the first day of service.** YouthCare works to end youth homelessness and to ensure that young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential. Founded in 1974 as one of the first youth shelters on the West Coast, YouthCare serves youth ages 12-24 who are unstably housed or experiencing homelessness. Our community resources program has been managed by a small team, and youth needs continue to grow. In order to meet the needs of our community, we need more support in sourcing and distributing critically needed items and volunteers to youth experiencing homelessness. Currently, client surveys indicate that hygiene items, clothing, and food, are there highest and most important need upon enrolling in our services. This JV Member would help ensure that vulnerable young people have the basics, supports, and more in order to not just survive, but thrive. The intended impacts of this position is: 1) To provide critically needed items to young people experiencing homelessness, include clothing, personal care, household items, food, technology, and more. 2) To increase community support for young people experiencing homelessness. 3) To provide excellent customer service to external and internal partners.
