Emergency Food System Coordinator VISTA

**UWKC AmeriCorps members must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the first day of service.** Increase access to home delivery of groceries by maintaining United Way’s Last Mile delivery partnership with Door Dash and local food banks, and potentially identifying and piloting a new partnership with an alternative delivery organization. Partner with food banks and other organizations doing food security work to expand program infrastructure and provide program-specific technical assistance; consult with program staff and partners to develop strategies to manage issues with service delivery; plan program improvements based on an in-depth review of client feedback; and develop program-specific reference materials and communication strategies. This project aims to increase the capacity of the emergency food system, which primarily serves low-income households experiencing hunger. King County Food Banks have been strained by COVID-19 and community need remains higher than prior to the pandemic. By expanding access to home delivery programs, this project will ensure that low-income and food-insecure households have access to reliable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food as the community recovers.
