Inver Hills Food and Resource Center VISTA, Seed Co

Inver Hills Community College is an accredited 2-year college in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. At Inver Hills, we aspire to create a transformational education for every student founded on belonging, learning, support, clear pathways, and community engagement. 48% of our students are the first in their family to go to college and 37% identify as students of color. The VISTA position will focus on building capacity of our Food and Resource Center which opened in Aug 2021. The VISTA will work closely with Inver Hills students to identify gaps in addressing basic needs, and build community partnerships and program recommendations to meet those needs. Many students are forced to choose between tuition, basic needs and other costs of living. Our mission is to meet students' basic needs so they can achieve their educational goals. This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Seed Coalition (formerly Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact). The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing capacity building support in higher education and nonprofit organizations. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
