AMIGOS Alumni Relations Associate
The Alumni Relations Associate will coordinate activities for AMIGOS new alumni engagement program called "AMIGOS Alumni Connect." The position is based out of AMIGOS Headquarters in Houston, Texas - an amazing, vibrant city where AMIGOS was founded nearly 60 years ago. The VISTA member will work to engage alumni living within the Houston area as well as from across the U.S. AMIGOS is a youth leadership nonprofit that has been operating programs across the region of the Americas since 1965. 30,000 students have completed an AMIGOS program over the past 59 years. Our alumni enter the world more prepared and inspired to bring about positive change in their communities - we call this lifelong leadership. The Alumni Relations Associate will build on activities that were launched by a VISTA during the previous year. This role is perfect for someone who wants to learn more about alumni relations and fundraising and who enjoys doing different tasks and using different skills. It is helpful, though not required, for the VISTA member to have a conversational level of Spanish. AMIGOS is a fast-paced and familial organization meaning so it's a great place for someone who is a self-starter. Member Duties : The Alumni Relations Associate will be part of the fund development department which is home to three full time staff members and one other VISTA role focused on fundraising. This is a great department to join as it's work is so critical to the mission of AMIGOS. The VISTA member will build on activities that were launched by a VISTA member who launched the alumni program during the previous year. These activities include enhancing the alumni communications plan and LinkedIn group, developing new alumni fundraising appeals, collecting alumni stories via interviews and blogs, administering alumni awards to recognize exceptional leadership, compiling the "Where Are They Now" digital yearbook, hosting in-person and virtual gatherings, developing new data and analysis projects to improve our alumni database, and more! The VISTA role will also work with other departments such as marketing, programs, and the enrollment team throughout the service year.
