PCCE- Blue Print Geneva (Food Security)

*Applicant will need to provide Covid-19 vaccine documentation* This position would work with BluePrint Geneva, a community-based organization that develops solutions from the ground up to create a more robust food recovery system in the greater Geneva community, reduce food waste, and provide healthy, nutritious food to people in need. We already grow and glean produce and have a community food-buying program, but this VISTA program would be focused on tying together various partners in the local food system to make sure good food does not go to waste.

Member Duties : Will be building capacity for a robust food waste diversion effort combining existing campus /institutional efforts with community service providers that could use reliable sources of quality food for provision to persons in need. May involve some grant writing, but will definitely involve effectively communicating with multiple contacts across the food system in the region--from farmers to grocery stores, to food pantries, to large kitchen operations, to social service agencies.
