TSC VISTA 2023: MENTOR NY, Operations VISTA
 
 
 
The Service Collaborative (TSC) VISTA Program mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to function in organizations, government agencies and educational institutions. Members focus on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all and creating healthy futures for the residents of low-income communities. Our goals are to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Service Collaborative VISTA program has partner organizations in New York State and across the country. During their term of service members, will receive support from our VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY. Our support includes monthly trainings, a social network of fellow members and daily support from VISTA Leaders.

Member Duties : MENTOR New York serves to diminish the mentoring gap through capacity building and technical assistance for mentoring and youth development programs; convening partners and elevating the mentoring movement; and advocacy to grow mentoring opportunities. MENTOR New York has been the leading expert providing training and consultation for mentoring best practices and its lasting impact on youth in New York State. The Operations VISTA will collaborate with MENTOR New York staff to develop training curriculum for new staff in delivering services to program partners. The VISTA will assist in supporting a CRM database implementation, researching and improving data collection and analysis procedures, and collaborating to create more efficient systems. The VISTA’s work will impact the mentoring gap in NYS, improving outcomes for college enrollment and high school dropout rates.
