Health Promotion Council Communications VISTA
 
 
 
Health Promotion Council seeks a VISTA member to support the expansion of community outreach programming in communities that are the most impacted by key public health issues. As public health issues such as neighborhood violence, the COVID 19 pandemic, food insecurity, and chronic disease rates continue to impact the communities served, HPC utilizes health education, direct services, capacity building, and advocacy to enact individual, community, and policy systems changes. HPC addresses these key public health issues through family and parenting education, training and capacity building, chronic disease prevention and management, tobacco and substance use prevention and cessation, and youth advocacy programming. HPC is working on building a stronger community presence by developing our brand as part of our three-year Strategic Plan and more actively promoting our services in public spaces. Building out our digital media tracking mechanism will help us create a more cohesive brand identity which will allow us to have a stronger social media foundation as our programs continue to expand. This will also help us with our ongoing recruitment efforts. Having someone assist us in making HPC programs more visible through this brand will further our goal of creating a long term and identifiable presence amongst the communities we serve.

Member Duties : -Develop community partnerships to further the impact of services, particularly in rural areas which are often underserved -Support the coordination and execution of community outreach events in order to build relationships with stakeholders across the state -Create outreach documents and program one-pagers in coordination with Outreach and Recruitment Manager -Assist with maintenance and updating of hpcpa.org website, cultivate digital outreach on behalf of all Health Promotion Council programs
