Stream Teams United: MRR Education Assistant
 
 
 
Missouri River Relief is the award winning Missouri Stream Team, #1875, whose mission is to engage individuals and communities along the Missouri River in the exploration, enjoyment, restoration and care of the river through hands-on river cleanups, education programs, and recreation. As an AmeriCorps member in the Stream Teams United VISTA project host site of Missouri River Relief, you will help build the capacity of Missouri River education programs that reach youth at Title 1 schools and community organizations that work with low income individuals. The AmeriCorps member will help build new education programs, expand the reach of existing programs, and recruit and manage volunteers assisting with education programs. Also, the AmeriCorps member will help identify sponsors, grants, donors, and partners for building the capacity of Missouri River Relief's education program to provide low-income students with science-based education activities, opportunities to connect with nature, exploration of science careers, and community improvement projects.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member at Missouri River Relief will help develop and implement an education curriculum for Title 1 schools about the Missouri River that aligns to Next Generation Science Standards; develop partnerships with other non-profits that support low-income families; assist with grant and fundraising efforts to support education programs; develop public relation materials to increase the reach of water education programs; and help develop core values of diversity within Missouri River Relief's programs.
