2023 CALS Count UP Curriculum Development AmeriCorps VISTA

Count Up is a K-12 math tutoring program housed within CALS’s Children’s branch. The program is student-driven and research-based, currently serving 70 students in Pulaski and Perry Counties. The program is breaking the cycle of poverty by providing educational support and alleviating learning loss in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The VISTA’s focus area falls under AmeriCorps’s Education priority. The VISTA will function in a capacity building role, creating promotional materials for the program, connecting with local educators, developing curriculum best practices, and reporting on program performance.
