CC Raleigh Campaign Specialist 2023

Challenges for North Carolina families living with economic hardship have steadily continued to increase over the past few years. In a response to this growing need, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh is planning extensive growth of our core programs. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh serves the 54 most eastern counties of North Carolina, which encompasses 32,000 square miles. Despite a huge footprint our development department currently consists of two full time employees. The AmeriCorps VISTA will play a vital role in expanding the capacity of the development department, particularly at the regional level. In their role they will be responsible for several tasks related to proposed campaigns as Catholic Charities plans to expand and improve their core programs. One campaign that will have the longest lasting impact on the agency and our clients is an organization wide campaign focused on our Food Pantry Services. This campaign will focus on expanding our traditional food pantry services, as well as re-envisioning how we serve clients at a regional level. Some specific ideas of the campaign include mobile food distribution, client choice pantries, and an overall focus on educating clients on healthier lifestyles. A lot of the direction of the campaign will be guided by our regional communities, utilizing the input from the communities we serve will provide a road map as we move through the campaign, increasing the opportunity for sustained success. Additionally, the VISTAs role in researching new funding opportunities, researching donor prospects, and assisting with fundraising events will help to ensure the financial continuity of these critical programs. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.
