United Way of Lake County

Join United Way of Lake County’s team to help children entering kindergarten gain the key skills needed to begin school ready to learn! Children of color, English learners and children living in high-poverty communities have fallen further behind their peers during the pandemic. Through United Way’s Success By 6 early intervention investments, we can address the root causes of poverty and achieve long-term improved outcomes for the future of our children and our community. The VISTA will develop an outreach plan to increase the number of families benefitting from Success By 6 programs. The VISTA will create a plan or process for registering students in programs to ensure community partners and families are aware of program and registrations slots are filled. The VISTA will create a template for follow up communication to support outreach to families for the duration of KCC. The VISTA will also take part in performance measurement to collect qualitative and quantitative data to measure outcomes and success stories. The VISTA will work to research best practices for early learning and on-going maintenance of space, develop a system to track and evaluate program participants and will analyze data and report on program participants using evaluation tools. The VISTA will create a report summarizing data and highlighting program effectiveness. And the VISTA member will develop processes and document the program in order to replicate and expand the resource to additional neighborhoods and communities. The VISTA member will also create a community asset map of Kindergarten Readiness Calendars. United Way of Lake County is a dynamic team of skilled professionals dedicated to serving Lake County children and families. Lake County is a vibrant, growing county made of diverse adults and families. The county's communities include picturesque rural communities, highly developed urban centers, and tourist communities.
