2022-2023 Housing Counseling Training VISTA
 
 
 
Housing Action Illinois is a statewide coalition that has been leading the movement to protect and expand the availability of quality, affordable housing and end homelessness in Illinois for 35 years. Our 160+ member organizations include housing counseling agencies, homeless service providers, developers of affordable housing, and policymakers. We bring everyone together to work toward an Illinois where everyone has a stable, good home. Our AmeriCorps member will help us in this mission by enhancing our housing counseling program by researching best practices and developing processes to increase efficiencies and boost participation. Specifically, the AmeriCorps member will research and assist with creating processes to better manage marketing, registration, and program evaluation. To accomplish all of this, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about housing justice and interested in fostering collaboration among housing professionals and organizations throughout Illinois and beyond. We are seeking an individual who is well-organized, communicates effectively, takes initiative, has strong writing skills, wants to learn, and can balance a wide variety of projects. Since this position is a part of the larger network of AmeriCorps members serving within Housing Action’s AmeriCorps Network, you will receive training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Member Duties : 1) The AmeriCorps member will research and collaborate on creating processes to better manage marketing, registration, and program evaluation. 2) The AmeriCorps member will research best practices and incorporate these best practices into the training program. 3) The capacity built by the AmeriCorps Member will support Housing Action as it seeks to leverage federal funds with additional financial and philanthropic institution support and the resumption of in-person training in 2023.
