2026 Habitat Community Development VISTA - Wausau

The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations increase capacity and sustainability for programs focused on alleviating poverty, while developing new leadership to help strengthen Wisconsin’s communities and move them “forward.” With passion, commitment, and hard work, our VISTAs help affiliates bring individuals & communities out of poverty. | Habitat for Humanity builds home, community and hope – envisioning a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity of Wausau Inc. is working to increase affordable housing in the Greater Wausau area and assisting families who own their homes with critical home repairs in an effort to maintain the affordable housing in the community. Habitat Wausau seeks to promote respect for all people and foster a welcoming and inclusive community for all.

Member Duties : You’ll strengthen Habitat Wausau's presence in the community and support for their work. By developing a more supportive framework for Habitat partner families and building stronger partnerships, Habitat Wausau will sustainably increase their ability to build and repair more homes. Project objectives: 1) PARTNER FAMILIES: Create and implement additional supports for partner families to help them on their path to homeownership and/or during the home repair process. 2) PARTNERSHIPS: Continue development of a partnership program to ensure build sponsors have a positive experience, paving the way for continued support of Habitat's home builds. 3) EVENTS: Plan events to promote Habitat in the community and increase support for Habitat's programs. BENEFITS include 30-hour work week and $250 housing stipend. Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit an application as soon as possible to ensure consideration.
