Sixth Street Shelter VISTA-UWGLV
 
 
 
All United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley AmeriCorps VISTA assignments will expand capacity towards population level goals across the region. UWGLV strives to create population level change in areas of education, community stability, and healthy aging to ensure individuals who experience crisis have the supports they need to rebound. The UWGLV VISTA project focuses on strengthening the networks of providers that deliver services to address concerns and through working with UWGLV staff they support the efforts across all three-issue areas. VISTAs address issues at the programmatic and system levels seeking to identify and deal with the root causes by utilizing the collective impact framework.

Member Duties : The Sixth Street Shelter VISTA will support the organization and the community through programming and services that are offered. They will provide the opportunity for promoting awareness and providing education, resources, and access to those in need. The VISTA will create a sustainable calendar of events for residents including educational, wellness and social connectiveness. The VISTA will monitor programming of the Family Resource Center. They will develop and monitor after school programming for shelter residents. They will work with staff to identify needs and provide support and resources needed to fulfill those residential and community needs. This position is a full-time 1-year commitment. The position is based at the Sixth Street Shelter.
