Energy Climate Communication Associate
 
 
 
The Energy Climate Communication Associate will support the state’s Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission (Commission) in operationalizing its mission through the Climate Ready Hawaii cohort. The mission is to promote ambitious, climate-neutral, culturally responsive strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation in a manner that is clean, equitable and resilient. The position will help the Hawaii State Energy Office (HSEO) develop targeted outreach initiatives to better inform, educate and engage vulnerable communities in energy project decision-making and access to energy conservation and clean energy resources to lower costs, increase living wage employment, and improve health and welfare outcomes.

Member Duties : Objective 1: The position will support the HSEO in planning and execution of engagements with industry stakeholders and impacted communities The VISTA will enhance the HSEO’s capacity to identify community priorities, facilitate clean energy discussions, develop targeted communications and identify tools for both community members and the state to assess community engagement impacts. Objective 2: The position will support the HSEO in developing its new website, web platform tools, and online community forum to effectively and consistently communicate Hawaii’s collective energy vision Objective 3: Develop, organize, and curate materials for the Commission’s website, social media accounts, meetings, conferences, and other outreach functions critical to the dissemination of climate change information.
