Clean and Affordable Transportation Choices Associate
 
 
 
The Transportation Energy and Climate VISTA will support the state’s Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission (Commission) in operationalizing its mission through the Climate Ready Hawaii cohort. The mission is to promote ambitious, climate-neutral, culturally responsive strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation in a manner that is clean, equitable and resilient. The position will help the Hawaii State Energy Office (HSEO) to lower transportation costs for underserved and vulnerable populations, decrease the potential negative impacts and improve the benefits of transportation energy projects. In so doing, The VISTA will play a key role in helping HSEO build equity into its policies and programs to ensure “no one is left behind.”

Member Duties : 1. Assist the Hawaii State Energy Office with affordable and clean transportation projects and research to help achieve a resilient clean energy economy, with a focus on addressing the needs of vulnerable and underrepresented ALICE and low-income communities. 2. Develop strategies and reporting metrics to identify and reach out to community partners and communities 3. Contribute to the development of communications tools on clean transportation 4. Coordinate specific event-based mini-campaigns with community partners
