Climate Ready Hawaii VISTA Leader
 
 
 
The Climate Ready Hawaii VISTA Leader is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the state’s Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission (CCMAC) and support and operationalize its mission through the Climate Ready Hawaii VISTA cohort. The mission is to promote ambitious, climate-neutral, culturally responsive strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation in a manner that is clean, equitable and resilient. The VISTA Lead will support the Climate Ready Cohort to engage with the community to effectively communicate climate change and readiness. The VISTA Lead will provide leadership to the Climate Ready Cohort by organizing professional development opportunities. The VISTA Lead will support climate work in the state by enhancing the capabilities of the climate ready cohort through facilitating professional development and providing support in projects where needed. The Vista Lead will continue and expand effort to break down silos between the different state offices by facilitating peer exchanges of the Climate Ready Cohort and VISTA membered housed at different offices. The Vista Lead will support the CCMAC work and the Coordinator through administrative support, coordination and organization of meetings and events, creating standard operating procedure documents, grant writing, research, outreach and various other duties as assigned.

Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will expand on existing efforts to build state and county capacity to address climate change in the state. The Position will providing support to up to 9 members during their service year through professional development, engagement opportunities and community connections. As a member of the Climate Ready Hawaii cohort the Leader will facilitate breaking down silos though peer to peer learning and group projects. The Leader will look at previous community engagement completed by the cohort and identify what has worked and areas to improve including how the commission has addressed social justice and climate equity. The Vista Lead will support the CCMAC work and the Coordinator through administrative support, coordination and organization of meetings and events, creating standard operating procedure documents, grant writing, research, outreach and various other duties as assigned.
