Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will expand on existing efforts to build state and county capacity to address climate change in the state. The Position will providing support to up to 9 members during their service year through professional development, engagement opportunities and community connections. The VISTA Leader will serve as a facilitator, trainer, and mentor of VISTA members, enhancing their capabilities, the success of their individual projects, and impact of the state’s community resilience and climate change work overall.
As a member of the Climate Ready Hawaii cohort the Leader will facilitate breaking down silos though peer to peer learning and group projects. The Leader will look at previous community engagement completed by the cohort and identify what has worked and areas to improve including how the commission has addressed social justice and climate equity.
